This Year.

January 3, 2012 by LylaD

For a year I poured my heart and soul out here at Dirty Little Secrets on UrbanMoms. This past year was one of reflection, honesty, and fantasy. Of heartache, shame, and recovery. It was scandalous and it was tragic. It was the story of my life as I saw it. And maybe, sometimes, as I wanted it to be.

It was a year of soul searching.
It was a wonderful and horrible year of facing demons and confronting fears.
It was a year of gut wrenching pain and life altering passion.
It was a year of both devastating loss and unexplainable love.
It was also a year of judgment, anger, and, on occasion, kindness and understanding from those who visited this space.
This last year, here with all of you, I began to change my life.
What will this next year hold?

You wanna make a good time. Got some fantastic data here. I believe if a greater number of people considered it that way, they’d have a better time frame have the hang ofing the situation.

I expect that what you say is true, but which one of us can understand all these changes these days

Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

Welcome back! I am so happy that you’re back – telling your story is one of the first steps of healing. Only you, yourself, can choose your path whether it be with Joel or Jackson or just being by yourself. Telling your story and putting yourself out there took great courage, especially when people start voicing their opinions. Take care of yourself, Lyla!

So happy to see you back. Please don’t let the uber-judgey folks get you down. More of us honor your honesty and courage for bringing your story into the light. Be well. Take care.
