…and the trend continues. Yup, down again last week, by another 1.6 pounds. That brings my total weight loss to 7.6 pounds, well on my way to my goal of 38 pounds.
And speaking of trends, doesn’t it look great all neatly graphed out like this?
You see, I’m all about the recognition and reinforcement. Seeing this graph makes me feel like I’m accomplishing something impressive. Yes, even despite that little blip around the end of January where I was up a bit. Overall, my weight is going down and that makes me feel good.
But that’s not all of it. At 7.6 pounds down, I am starting to notice some positive physical changes. For one, my clothes fit me better. I can’t really say they’re getting too big, because unfortunately before I started Weight Watchers my clothes were frankly all pretty much too small. But now they fit comfortably and — bonus side-effect — they look better, too. And when I look at myself naked in the mirror (and btw, you’re lying if you say you don’t, because we all do it!) I am beginning to see my waist emerge again. Yeah baby!
But perhaps the best change in my appearance is the re-emergence of my face from the lump of doughy fat that was engulfing it before. It’s funny, because I never seem to notice my face getting fatter until I see myself in pictures, and then I’m all like, ohmygod! I am so FAT! Look at my face! So it’s great to see that pudge starting to go away – mostly because I look a lot younger when my face is thinner. And somehow, at my age, looking younger is a prospect that I quite enjoy.
Oh and also? I had this horrible sciatica in my right hip. It got so bad that I was having problems sleeping: I couldn’t lie on my right side because it hurt, and even if I wasn’t on my right side, the pain would often wake me up at night. That too is easing off, so sleeping is more comfortable, which has pretty obvious benefits.
So yeah, that’s pretty much all (to quote my daughter’s most recent reading response journal entry for school, LOL). This time seems to be one of the ones that works (please, please let it be the last time I have to do this!) and I’m not gonna argue with that. Now if only I could find the time to go to yoga classes!

YAY FOR YOU!! Kath, that’s soooo terrific – keep up all the good work, lady! (And I think a person ought to have a look at one’s naked self in the mirror EVERY day. I do.)
