It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

November 18, 2013 by Jen 1 Comment

With my newly renovated house almost complete I decided to go all out this year on the holiday decorating. Lucky for me, I have one very eager 10 year-old assistant. With most of our regular holiday decor covered in thick layers of dust in the yet-to-be-completed basement we decided to take this opportunity to get a few new holiday trinkets for the house. So, yesterday my daughter and I made our way to Home Depot to check out the Martha Stewart Living Holiday Special Collections and we were really glad we did!

We decided our favourite was the Arctic Collection, the silvers and cool blues really worked well with our minimalistic design. Add to it a few real pine boughs and I think we are off to a great start.

Here is the result:

A nice little addition to the hearth.

And finally, the candy cane walkway to welcome all of our friends and family during the holiday season. This was my 10 year-old’s contribution. It is her favourite. A little outside the arctic theme but turning those candy cane lights on gave her such tremendous joy. ‘Tis the season, after all!

At my house there will be a candy cane walkway to welcome you.

We will be using this same Martha Stewart Living arctic theme for our tree this year (if the kids will let me put aside some of the old ones!) and I am thrilled with the way it all comes together. What are your plans for holiday decorating this year?

The product in this post was sponsored by Home Depot. All experiences and opinions are my own.

I love the garland on the stairs. We do that too!
