Special K spent the past 6 months conducting a nationwide search for 3 Canadian women for their Start Something Fabulous programme. The programme was launched to “celebrate the confidence that comes from looking and feeling great about your shape.”
The 3 winners were presented wearing dresses created by celeb designer Cynthia Rowley during a runway show in the middle of LG Toronto Fashion Week, hosted by Monika Schnarre. They will also be appearing soon on a cereal box near you.
The question I’d like to ask is did the campaign work? I’m pretty sure my head hasn’t been stuck in the ground since last spring, but the first time I heard about it was when I was asked to photograph the show.
Cynthia Rowley said “These 3 women were chosen because their personal stories speak to so many women and really demonstrate that living a healthy, balanced lifestyle is achievable.”
What do you think? Do campaigns like this work for you? Do you feel engaged? And the bottom line is, would you buy the product?

Yikes!! I didn’t hear about this until just now!
I love what they are trying to do but I wish there was more publicity. We all need to love ourselves for who we are and be healthy, no matter what shape we are.

I have never heard of this campaign which leads me to believe these women were not chosen just based on thier story, that aside, I don’t car why there were chosen. What I do care about is that if this is thier moment in the spotlight, I wish they had nicer dresses!!!! I am sure Cynthia Rowley is a lovely designer, but I think these dressses are awful. As for the cereal, I will eat it because I love it, not based on these three ladies.

i tend not to pay much attention unless it’s big and sustained, and even then, I might not remember what product it is attached to, so for me? I just don’t really care, though in the abstract it is nice to hear that company’s are talking about positive things.
