(un)Happy Barfday

January 16, 2012 by Christine

I wrote last week about Eva turning 5.
We spent Friday night preparing for her birthday party the next day. She invited 4 friends over to dress as princesses and spend some time with this Beauty:

The real Belle!
Excitement was building as we decorated the house for the next day’s festivities. We ordered the cupcakes and decorated the family room

prepared loot bags and laid out her gown

She went to bed excited about meeting a real live princess with all of her friends.  Getting makeup applied by a real princess.  Her nails done by a real princess. Being sung to by a real princess…it was going to be a great day!
And it would have been had she not woken up at 4am, barfing.  And proceeded to barf every hour after that for 7 hours. Initially she seemed fine in between pukes. Maybe we could still have it.  But after the 5th puke around 9am, I thought that it was best to call it.
Party = CANCELLED  <insert major sad face>

So instead of doing all of the wonderfully exciting things that we had planned to do in celebration of her turning 5, she spent the morning over a bucket.  And the afternoon doing this:

Crappy Birthday, indeed…

    Oh, that’s heartbreaking! I hope you get to have a belated, barf-free celebration soon.

    Poor little Proncess!! I hope she is feeling better – at least when you are able to celebrate she will be in better spirits and able to enjoy herself:) Hope you are okay though! So hard to plan everything only to have it messed up.

    Oh no!! So very sad for you little miss… sucks to be sick on your birthday, no matter how young or old you are.
    I know you’ll find a way to make it up to her, and it’ll be grand! (Hugs to you, mummy!!)

    I’m hoping to Amreen!
    On top of feeling awful from her sickies, she was devastated about not seeing her friends or the princess. Double whammy.
