Too Early For???

December 2, 2009 by Margot

A post about Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows: Part 1???  Never.  Well, the movie is due for release in a little over 11 months, but we now have our first glimpse at the new movie with this shot of our beloved trio of wizards: Harry, Ron & Hermione.

Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows

So what do you think?  Are you like me, trying to figure out the where/when/what of this pic?

And an even bigger scoop, issued by Director David Yates on the Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince DVD (in stores Dec 8), is that Daniel Radcliffe will appear nude in the final two films!!

“[In one scene] a horcrux [carrying a piece of Voldemort’s soul]
defends itself by producing nightmarish visions, and one shows Hermione
(Emma Watson) and Harry embracing and kissing,
” he explained. “It’s something intriguing and sensual for Rupert to react to, and Dan will be bare for that.“

Fairly certain we won’t actually see anything, but it certainly indicates that indeed the movies will continue to mature with their characters & stars.

Or is it indeed too early?  Only 352 days & counting!

Never too early for some Wizardly news but this is astounding! In my head I know that the trio have to grow up but the mom in my heart sobs for the little tykes they were when we first met. Harry will do us proud I’m sure, like the time Jen kissed him then vanished and he stood there with that silly grin on his mug. Priceless. The only thing that is too early is the children growing up. But, still and all, can not wait for the movie to come out.

I can’t wait to watch this movie and … speaking of movies I did a movie night with my daughter and we saw AVATAR. I highly recommend it….it was the 1st 3D movie I saw in a theatre and it was amazing. The story line is great and re-enforces that we are all part of whatever planet we reside on…there is some violence and a romantic aspect as well – comparible to the last Harry Potter movie. But the big thing was the 3D effects – it was worth it just for that!

Bella, I’m with you on the whole Harry Potter nude thing. It’s hard to chase out of your head that 11-yr old boy who started the series. But if I remember correctly, the scene that David Yates is referring to actually occurs in the book & is pivotal to breaking up (& eventually bringing back together) our wizarding trio. Plus the word Yates uses is “bare”, so that leaves a lot of room for interpretation. I’m thinking the publicity of the whole “Harry Potter Nude” headline might have a tad bit to do with this “scoop.” Heck, we’re talking about it!!!

Daniel Radcliffe nude? Is he planning to bulk up like Taylor Lautner did in New Moon? Probably not, that wouldn’t suit the character. I’m not sure how I feel about seeing a nude Harry Potter.
