The End is Just the Beginning

September 20, 2010 by ruthmorton

Wow,
what a great run we’ve had!

For
the last few weeks, I’ve been chatting with bloggers, tweeting with followers
and generally just getting to know the UrbanMoms community. What an amazing
group of dedicated parents, with what I hear are a very special group of kids!

In my
blogs, I’ve shared the top five ways Office 2010 can enhance your
children’s creativity, as well as how to defend yourself against the
attack of the inbox. We talked about how Word and
PowerPoint can
make homework fun (no, really!) and help you
and your family
make great presentations. I even let you in on a little
secret called OneNote:
a digital notebook that can transform the way
you and your kids gather and organize information.

Today, for my final blog, I
wanted to share a bit about
Office Web Apps – which will help you get
more things done no matter where you are, or what time it is. These convenient
online companions to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote offer you an
easy way to access, view, and edit Microsoft documents directly from your web
browser.

What
if your teenager sends you an emergency text saying he needs you to edit his
English essay, but you’re nowhere near your home computer? Or what if you’re
away from work at a family event and something urgent comes up at the office?

With Web
Apps, you can open Microsoft files on your mobile device or on any computer,
regardless of whether it is a PC or Mac or what version of Office was used to create
the document. All you need is your free Windows Live ID.

So, if
you’re anything like me and you like to really research your decisions before
you make any moves, hopefully these blogs provided you with the inspiration you
need to upgrade to Microsoft Office 2010 and start taking advantage of all the
great tools it has to offer both for you and your family.

Not
yet 100% convinced?
Try it before you buy it, or tweet me any questions to
@ruthm.
Also flag
@urbanmomsCA in your tweet so we can all
keep this great conversation going.
