Teddy’s or Bunnies- you decide

January 14, 2012 by HeatherFawcett

I am on a quest to find cookies without added crap in them and so I have been spending way too much time in the cookie aisle reading labels.  By crap I mean fillers, preservatives, coloring and other unpronounceable additions.  I know if it’s not made in your kitchen there are going to be some compromises but somehow I was lured by the happy dancing animals that grace so many of the packages and thought how bad could it be?  It’s bad, many of the labels have over twenty ingredients in them which seems
excessive considering cookie recipes have just a few.  Let’s take just one type of cookie, the toddler popular animal shaped graham cracker.  Here’s two types, two labels, two manufacturers which two very different approaches.  I got them both at a big box store and both passed the Roman taste test.

This is the ingredient list of Teddy Grahams $2.49

My 16 month old daughter is just starting to like the texture of cookies. I am definitely going to try Amy’s Honey Bunny Grahams. I love the natural and organic ingredients.
