I can’t recall how many times we’ve had to rush down to Sick Kids with emergencies and how fortunate we are to have it within reach. It’s an amazing hospital as I’m sure many of you know. We are at peace knowing that some of the world’s leading doctors are based here.
The Hospital for Sick Kids in Toronto sees an average of 88 urgent care cases a day by 10 pm at night. And they tell us that no one comes to the hospital with a minor issue. Of course, to maintain and support the ongoing needs of this hospital additional funds are greatly needed.
Scrubs in the City was definitely a night of curiosity and cocktails at this annual major fundraising event to support The Hospital for Sick Kids (Toronto). The Doctors and staff, the Socialites and the great supporters came out to schmooze in the not so secret event space at The Evergreen Brickworks (yes, a former brick yard located in the heart of the city).
Scrubs in the City has raised over $1.7 million for the Hospital for Sick Kids over the past 10 years. This year’s proceeds will go directly to the Emergency Care Unit.
This year’s theme was “The Secret Garden” and hosted by Mary Kitchen, Entertainment Anchor for CityTV News and the crowds were entertained by popular singer Shawn Desman as well as acrobatic performers who hung from the rafters.
Major sponsors included Rogers and TD. And wow! Society darling and philanthropist Suzanne Rogers look AMAZING …as usual!
Plenty of “eye candy” …young and eligibles, gorgeous outfits with equally as stunning ladies who donned them. And plenty of delicious food catered by Pusateri’s Fine Foods & Catering and drinks…hello, Poutine station!
A beautiful evening for an amazing cause!
And if you’re interested…next year’s date has already been set for June 6, 2013!
