This time to see my parents and because I had two business meetings. One with Farm Boy (an independent grocery store with 9 stores) and one with Costco at their Head Office. Both meetings well went – thanks for asking!!
I took my daughter and her friend as well. Her friend had never been to Ottawa so it was perfect.
We played tour guide: Canada Science and Technology Museum (they loved the krazy kitchen), Skating on the Canal, Beavertails (of course), a drive thru Rockliffe and Byward Market etc.
The Beavertails are always a hit. I have been enjoying them my entire life (ok maybe since I was 10 oops I am wrong, I was 13. The Company was founded in 1978). What a success story and what a great product.
While playing tour guide we visited my dad who is still in rehab and counting days till he gets to go home. Our visit sure did cheer up, both my mom and my dad!!
The girls also got to go swimming in the pool at my parents condo and of course..they stayed up late.
Not too late, but late enough.
I also got a chance to meet two twitter foodie friends who live in Ottawa. They met me for breakfast and naturally we talked about food. It was awesome to get to know them and of course I walked away with a list of restaurants to check out in Ottawa: for good pho, good coffee and good sushi.
It was a pleasure to meet them (in the event you on twitter they are @foodiePrints).
Now I’m back in Toronto and eager to go the gym tomorrow to burn off some calories.
Hope you get a chance to visit Ottawa one day soon too. It’s really an awesome city with lots to offer.

I used to love the krazy kitchen!!! And beaver tails….and all the Ottawa chip wagons – we used to keep vinegar and salt in our car so we were always prepared!
