We just returned from Ottawa and as always it was an awesome trip.
The fact that it wasn’t -20, or the fact that there was not 4 ft. of snow really helped! However I planned the trip carefully and was studying weather patterns before I cofirmed that we were going. ( before a trip I get kinda addicted to the Weather Network)!!
I am not going to tell you how long the trip took either, in the event any police are reading this post!! But let’s just say, that I made it in record time. It certainly helped that we didn’t take bathroom breaks and that my daughter had 4 movies to watch.!! (got to love those portable dvd players).
It was great to see my parents, and after they walked thru the door, we sat down and shmoozed for an hour and a half. They were telling stories, laughing, and laughing some more.
On Saturday, we had “high tea” at the Chateau Laurier and it was a real treat. Something we don’t do everyday, thats for sure!! Then we enjoyed the Santa Claus Parade, which was held for the first time at night. What a brilliant idea. Wish I knew how to tell them….I would indeed write them an email.
On Sunday, we had a quick tour of the Byward Market and then off to a diner for eggs and toast.
Then it was time to say, good bye. Boo Hoo.
I’m sure we will be visiting again in the New Year. Ottawa is a great city and my parents are great parents. End of Story!!

Sounds like the only thing to make this trip to Ottawa truly complete would have been a frozen canal! I’m envious of your trip!
