We have just returned from another trip to Ottawa!! It was a crazy week…returned from Vegas on Monday and on Thursday nite I was packing up my bags for yet another trip to Ottawa. My husband was away, so I took the two kids (and an extra friend) and off we went.
My parents were thrilled to see both grandkids at the same time and thrilled to fuss over them too. They were so thrilled that they booked a hotel for us right across the street from their condo. It’s called the Albert at Bay Suite Hotel We scored a room with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room/dining room, with a full kitchen that separates the two “wings”.
PERFECT. I put my son and his buddy at the other end (they are both 14 years old) and they were as thrilled as I was.
As we unpacked the first nite, we noticed a “pillow menu” brochure on the bed. This is what was offered:
a) Indulgence Pillow
b) Relaxation Pillow
c) Embraceable You Pillow
d) Silent Night
e) Lean on Me
f) Unforgettable.
I was in love with this concept. But then again, I’m in love with the heavenly bed at the Westin too. I love how creative hotels are, these days. Don’t you?
So in the event that you are going to Ottawa in the future for the Tulip Festival, Winterlude, The Ottawa Marathon, or any other time….don’t hesitate to check out this hotel and their pillows.
We ordered up three pillows and then fought!!
Despite the fight over pillows, everyone had a great nites rest and then of course, I snuck out early to take photos of the Tulips by Dows Lake.
I love Ottawa and I love my parents…but you know that by now. (I’m sure this is my 4th entry about Ottawa).
P.S. Tulip Festival is May 7 to May 24th.
Just an fyi…. the Lord Elgin has a pillow menu as well…. and has a fab location. Check us out next time you come to Ottawa.

I love Ottawa too.There is something about it – just a feeling that everything is in order, you know.
Pillows are totally my thing and I think it’s awesome to have a pillow menu. How innovative. There is nothing to compare with a great night’s sleep [ well, maybe some things can] I am the person who tried to buy a pillow from a resort in blue Mountain as it was so utterly perfect, but failed as there was too much red tape involved.
get this- they actually told me it would have been easier to steal it..lol
