I spent the day yesterday pulling out all of our summer clothes and replacing them with winter gear. I washed all of the mittens, hats, and scarves. I had my kids try things on to see what needs to be purchased (surprisingly little despite huge growth spurts…their clothes must have been ridiculously long last year). And then I moved to my own drawers.
I pulled out all of the summer clothes and decided to only store what I would actually wear next year. I have a bunch of stuff I keep year after year but never put on. So, off to the charity bin. We just don’t have enough room to hold on to everything.
Then, I pulled out all of my jeans from last year. I only had 2 pairs out for the summer and 3 more stored away. I decided to try them on just to see how they looked. Not good. It would help if I could actually do them up. I ran to the scale. I did gain a few pounds but not enough to do that. However, I did stop running so now I got squishy and I can’t do up my pants.
Now the dilemma, new jeans or new bod? I could go out and buy a few new pairs of jeans I suppose but the idea of that just made me feel fat and defeated. I can’t run until my back is better so that’s out of the question. So, I woke up this morning and started another Isagenix cleanse. I refuse to go and buy new jeans. Plus, I am going to Chicago in a few weeks and need to be able to wear them. So here I go again. Wish me luck!

My issue is that if I do buy a new pair of jeans to get me through my squishy times I will never get rid of the squish!
So I’ve been wearing the same 2 pairs of pants all Summer, now Fall. Time to do something about it! Good luck with your decision!

Good luck. Look forward to hearing how it goes!

It is a dilemma. While the “be comfortable” me says go buy another pair of jeans to get you through until you shrink, the “don’t waste your money” me says it probably won’t take you long to shed that extra squishy and be back into those hotties.
I’m really going to have to look into that Isagenix cleanse thing…I keep seeing mention of it on this site and I’m really curious!
Good luck with firming up. You’ll be thinner in plenty of time for Chicago!

i also refuse to buy new jeans! i will, to the dismay of my husband, wear these same two pairs of lululemons every day until i can actually purchase a non-maternity pair of pants. good luck to you! and you should reward yourself with an awesome pair of jeans when you’re ready. try Body Blue on the Danforth – great selection.

I agree with Ali…everyone needs a pair of comfortable jeans (aka fat jeans) in their wardrobe for those days when you’re feeling…comfortable!

Jen, buy at least one pair of jeans to wear until you lose the weight. you will get wear out of ’em now and you will feel awesome when you are too small to fit into them!

Good luck! I haven’t bought new jeans in a very long time because I’ve been waiting for a better bod!
