I have been going to Toronto’s Festival of Beer for five years.
I love this Festival. Period.
Why do I like this festival so much? Here’s a few reasons:
a) lots of beer
b) great outdoor venue
c) everyone is friendly (maybe the beer helps?)
d) I get to wear my beer glasses.
e) fantastic food.
I have a strategy to attend this festival…which helps me enjoy it.
a) arrive the first day – an hour after the gates open. This means that I typically go on Thursday afternoon around 5:30 p.m. At that hour there’s no line ups for anything. For tickets, for beer, for your photo to be taken, etc. How pleasant.
b) try and not drink 3 coffees before you get there as there’s only porta-potties on site.
c) take the TTC. It’s convenient and it’s the right thing to do. Drinking and Driving is not cool.
e) try and taste new beers. That’s what it’s all about, non?
I had a great time as you can see from the photos. Even if you don’t like beer – there’s always great music playing, a grilling tent featuring BBQ demonstrations, a giant jenga game, a giant twister game and ARMCHAIR QUARTERBACK that provided a lot of entertainment for many!!

I also got a chance to say hi to @CreemoreKaren from Creemore Springs Brewery, @Beausalllnatural from Beau’s All Natural Brewing Co. (they are new to the LCBO) and the fantastic people at Great Lakes Brewery. Plus I bumped into @spotlightoronto. I seem to bump into him where ever there is good food/good alcohol.!!
I bought 20 tokens and gave back 10. Can you believe? it happens EVERY YEAR.
One day I will learn.

The Festival runs this year from Aug 5 to 8th and is located at Bandshell Park on the Exhibition Grounds.
