A solution to the “chapped lips, still want to wear pretty lipcolor” problem

January 14, 2011 by Metalia

I still love the Jordana Easyshine lip gloss I wrote about a few weeks ago. However, winter here in New York has taken a turn for the arctic. I consequently found my lips going from totally fine to incredibly chapped in the space of, like, 45 minutes. Ow. I needed something that would heal and protect my lips, but still looked pretty.

Enter Nivea A Kiss of Flavor Cherry Tinted Lip Care! It has almond oil and Vitamin E (a must for my poor, cracked lips), but also has a sheer (yet deep) pink tint, which looks absolutely gorgeous. (Well, I think so, anyway. See?)

It comes in an easy twist-up stick form, and costs under $3. It also works. My lips looked and felt better in about a day, and the color is perfect.

Smashbox makes nice, tinted moisturizing lipglosses too, which you can get at Sephora. They’re not all thick/gunky/sticky too, so you won’t have to worry about your hair sticking to your lips as well.

Oh wait, also? benefit makes a Benetint balm, just to share that info, and that IS in Canada, too. and has that familiar rose-petal smell.

that has always been my winter dilemma – driving me nuts this week! Must see if my drugstore has this, as sometimes you are ahead of the curve down south.
