my favourite thing of the week- Q and A 5 years at a glance

October 21, 2012 by Nancy

Q and A.jpg

I gave this to myself in the summer and I am having the best time with it. Those of you who know me know my love of questions- asking them and answering them.

Imagine knowing your  answer to the same question 5 years in a row
This way you can see how you feel as you change or as you don’t over the years
For example
October 11th says-What makes you feel wonderful?
and on October 11 2012 I wrote my answer
and in 5 years will I  have 5 very different answers or similar ones?
 other favourite questions-
What comes in mind when you think of fear?
Who is your best friend?
Who do you want to know better?
What are you a geek about?
Are you a teacher or a student?
3 words to describe your love life
how do you feel about your body?
This year I feel bad news is best served straight up- will I ever want it sugar coated?
straight up.jpg
I love this little journal.

Journals are so wonderful… one can really see one’s growth over time – and it feels especially more gratifying when we’re already grown, I think. (Or, are we ever really completely grown? I think not!!)
    Great post, Village… xox

I have kept a journal for over 18 years. it started with me writting about all my childrens milestones, first word, first tooth and as they got older funny things they said. alony the way it became a grateful journal as well. Grateful for my husband and children, my family and friends. My husband died of suicide on Apil 19th of this year and I am grateful that I can go back and read about our life together and know how wonderful it was and how grateful I was for what I had. Now I write to James everyday, tell him what me and the girls have been doing and letting him know how much I/we miss him. this is helping me get through this difficult time. I recommend journally for everyone, it is a good idea for kids as well.
