Two At the Top

November 25, 2013 by Amanda 4 Comments

I had her all to myself for her first two years.

The thing is, she was pretty grumpy most of that time. Then her sister was born and the chaos doubled, and finally tripled when her youngest sister made an entrance. She has grown up so fast and can often slip under my radar as she requires less of my attention than her little sisters, but I don’t want to give her less of me. She deserves it all.

So hard to balance the voices and demands of three kids!

Yesterday we snuck away for a hike, just the two of us. For that hour, she got all of me and I got all of her and it was swell. We pushed to the top of Giants Head mountain and talked about life and she was a goof and took a zillion photos on my phone and stole my mittens and wanted to stop for a break every six seconds.

Love that girl.

Awesome photos! And I love spending time one-on-one with my girls when I get the chance.

Lately I’ve been feeling like I can finally have separate “dates” with my kids – lunch outings, or whatnot… life gets tres busy, and it’s nice to be “a deux” sometimes!!

Totally! I find my girls are so different when you get them alone, when they’re not clamoring for my attention and just just ‘be.’ So nice.

That should say, “can just” not “just just.” Just finished a glass of wine, so pardon the typos.
