words for Wednesday- power and the lady

In all the different ways women and girls are  told to act like a lady, work like a man, have sex like a man, be a lady, stand up straight, be strong, undo  the next button, be silent, be aggressive, hey don’t be a bitch, be kind, be tough, be sexy, don’t be too sexy, you are nothing if you are not sexy, be beautiful, be smart, don’t be too beautiful, don’t be too smart, be powerful, easy tiger you are scaring people off…
BLAH BLAH BLAH
It is good to have examples of women who are strong and lady like and anything but petty. I don’t care if that sounds old fashioned.

I need to go see the Iron Lady now…I missed it. She was one polarizing strong woman all right.

Just yesterday I heard on the news that she cried upon having to move out of Downing Street. Somehow I cried at that moment. I guess it made her seem more human to me. Agreed she wasn’t my political cup of tea, but you can’t deny she really was the Iron Lady.

A strong woman she certainly was… not my favourite woman (not by a long shot) but you can’t deny her ferocity. And love her or loathe her, at least she didn’t come to stand where she did by winning a beauty contest – I can certainly admire that.
