This past week was a good reminder that sometimes the simplest things bring the greatest joy. My life is busy and full and rewarding but this week was just plain fun. We went away to a little resort in Muskoka with a few families. Some we knew and some we got to know.
The kids played with their friends, old and new. They created their own adventures and made their own decisions. I took a break from reality, relaxed and had fun. A few nights out, happy hour on the beach, great chats and some healthy competition. The resort was not what made it so fun, in fact it is a bit run down and a little pricey, it was the relaxed vibe and the company. My kids had more fun than I think they have ever had and it was so, so simple.
