My friend was telling the story of a teenage daughter meltdown of epic proportions- hormones deadlines, friends, missed school during a prolonged illness and that creeping feeling that something is not right and how to solve it.
That evening both daughters had ‘tantrums’ -as one was feeling left out and joined the other. The daughter who had missed so much school went upstairs and took everything out of her desk and started throwing it against the wall.
My friend’s husband came through the front door-with shouting and banging greeting him first. She handed him a cold beer and said “Drink this. You will need it”
She then went upstairs and got in the tub. Half an hour later things simmered down. Everyone had needed a good cry. He popped in to see her.
She looked up, surrounded in bubbles and said “Honey, I have been thinking and I have changed my mind… “
… I don’t want children”
