Just over three weeks ago I had the pleasure of spending a few days with my fellow UrbanMoms bloggers at Blue Mountain.
I got to experience the low ropes course with Amanda and the amazing Scandinave Spa with Amanda, Tracy and Sonya.
I met people I have admired for a long time and reconnected with old friends. We ate the most decadent of meals.
It was an incredible time…but…but the entire time we were there my thoughts were with my kids and how much they would love Blue Mountain. We already had a week scheduled in Collingwood at Sean’s cousin’s chalet. I knew I’d be back at Blue with my family and couldn’t wait.
Prior to this summer, whenever I heard Collingwood or Blue Mountain my initial thought was “skiing”.
Well, it’s not just for skiing anymore. Not even close!
Because of the varied age ranges (and developmental gaps) in our family, it is often difficult to accommodate everyone’s needs and interests.
Blue Mountain resort provided that for us.
Prior to our arrival, our thought was that we would spend half of our time at Wasaga Beach and the other half at Blue.
We ended up spending about 3 hours at Wasaga Beach and the rest of our time at Blue.
We all agreed that this is something we’d like to do annually. Actually the kids want to do it again in August. And September.
We don’t ever get the opportunity to travel as a family and as much as I hate to say it – this was our first ever family vacation.
It couldn’t have been better. It was close to home, but far enough that we felt like we were away.
From the Woodlot Low Ropes Course, Climbing Wall, Open Air Gondola Ride, to the Cascade Putting Course, Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster and Plunge! Aquatic Centre there was something for every one of us to enjoy.
