I can tell it’s here when my eyes prick with tears while listening to some dumb song on the radio. Or how when my husband gets a bad case of the hiccups and instead of laughing I want to punch him in the neck. Or when my kids are fighting and in 0.3 seconds my blood begins to boil and I yell louder than all three of them combined.
Yes. PMS. It’s here. And it’s REAL.
I try to not use it as an excuse to be a total douche for a week, but I also try to cut myself some slack, realizing I am not operating at full capacity and am a tad more fragile than usual. And by “cut myself some slack” I mean, eat 14 triple chocolate cookies. As a snack. To help me feel better. Totally works.
