Forget the award nominations, Keira Knightley is pregnant!
The Imitation Game star is expecting her first child with husband James Righton. Knightley’s spokesperson confirmed the news with Elle UK Friday morning. And while she didn’t share many details, many speculate the actress is about three months pregnant.
Rumours began swirling this past Sunday when Knightley attended the Moët British Independent Spirit Awards, where witnesses noticed the star wasn’t drinking any alcohol. Weird, considering the main sponsor of the event was an alcohol company. Many also noticed that the dress she wore was a bit looser compared to the tighter fitted gowns she’s known for wearing at these high-profile events. But now we know why!
And the good news just keeps rolling in. On Wednesday, Knightley received a Best Supporting Actress nomination from the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Golden Globes, for her role in The Imitation Game — putting her in a good place to receive an Oscar nod.
It’s no secret that Knightley always wanted children. Back in 2012, she spoke to Vogue about her thoughts on motherhood, saying that she doesn’t believe being a stay-at-home mom is for her.
“Would I want to be a stay-at-home mother? No. On the other hand, you should be allowed to do that, as should men, without being sneered at.” Well said, girl!
Now we can’t wait to watch that baby bump grow come award season. And who knows? Knightley might just go home with some much deserved hardware. I mean talk about icing on the cake! Congrats to Keira Knightley on ALL the happy news.
