As part of their “Hollywood” issue, The New York Times Magazine has just come out with a set of short films. The series is called “Wide-Awake” and features 13 female stars whose performances “defined the year in film“.
Described as a “video gallery of dreams and transformations,” the project features a group of “Hollywood Heroines”:
Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Lawrence, Naomi Watts, Keira Knightley, Rebel Wilson, Helen Hunt, Kerry Washington, Elle Fanning,Shirley MacLaine, Marion Cotillard, Emmanuelle Riva, Amy Adams and young Quvenzhané Wallis.
I’m including a few of the videos below. They’re certainly dreamy and interesting. But….Jennifer Lawrence get tangled in a hose, Naomi Watts plays bizarre dress-up in front of a mirror, Anne Hathaway is a hotel maid and Marion Cotillard digging in the dirt. Not sure how it shows acting but could just be me!
Check out all the videos at The New York Times Magazine and let me know what you think!
