A Career Crisis Solved With Handbags!!

Peter Kent Buenos AiresA childhood friend introduced me to Lisa a few months ago. We met for a coffee one day and quickly hit it off. Over the coffee (at the local Starbucks naturally), she told me about her life. Here’s the details.

Name: Lisa
Age; 43
Married: 18 years
Kids: 15 years old, 11, twins who are 8
Raised in South Africa but moved to Toronto 20 years ago.
Education: Speech and Language Therapist
Hobbies: Tennis
Midlife crisis occurred: a year ago
Here’s some more details about the midlife crisis (actually it was more like a career crisis)
Lisa had worked part time for many many years and even though she loved the clients she left work always feeling like “what else is out there for me”.
 One day a friend showed up at the tennis court with an amazing, unusual handbag and Lisa had one of those “aha” moments. She was obsessed with the handbag. She really really wanted to have the handbag.
The problem: The handbag was from Argentina.
She sat with her husband one nite and told him about her professional unhappiness.
He said “lets go to Argentina”.
A month later, Lisa and her husband were on a plane to Argentina for 4 DAYS to meet the owner of Peter Kent Buenos Aires.
She returned with 53 handbags and a new role as the official (and only) distributor for Peter Kent Handbags for Canada.
She had also placed an order for 200 MORE handbags…as she was confident that the handbags were going to fly out the door.
Lisa solved her midlife professional crisis and now is in her 3rd season selling these gorgeous handbags that are available in boutique stores in Toronto, London, Kleinburg, Calgary, Edmonton and now Vancouver.
Don’t you just love stories like this that end “happily ever after”.
