Let’s talk about ice cream. Why not? We are all melting with this extreme weather we have been experiencing and eating ice cream makes you feel cooler, non?
Here’s two places in Toronto who are bringing ice cream to “new levels” of great-ness!!
A. Sweet Escapes
This lovely cafe is located in the Distillery District and has been opened since May 2008. I noticed a lot of buzz on twitter about ROASTED PINEAPPLE ICE CREAM and wanted to check it out seeing as I have some spare time (i.e kids are at sleepover camp).
My kind server, Chris, listened to me kvetch about my lactose problems and he put together a tablespoon of each flavor. How kind!!
Here’s a list of ice cream flavors that were on the plate: avocodo, roasted pineapple, peanut brittle, red velvet, espresso brownie and blueberry sorbet.
My favorite: all of them.

B. Greg’s Ice Cream
Again, Greg is a master of creating unique flavors. He has been creating unique ice cream since 1981!!
Our family has become addicted to the roasted marshmallow ice cream since we were introduced to Greg’s a few years ago. We are in love with it. We are also intrigued by it. There always seems to be a discussion “how does he do it” as we discuss the “roasted” flavor. It’s exactly like you are eating a roasted marshmallow that came off the campfire.
Their list of ice creams (can) include: grape nut, ginger, green tea, sweet cream, stout etc. The list constantly changes but we are grateful that roasted marshmallow is always on the board. (phewwwww)

Hey Vick, nice blog coz it made me think. My favourite place for ice cream is in the small town of Westport, just southwest of Perth. Grew up cottaging close by and nothing makes me feel 9 years old again like stopping in on the way back to Ottawa when the temps are like they are. Thanks for the stop and think moment, Shaun.
