My husband often travels and it was time to join him as he was going to spend 4 days in Orlando Florida. Traveling with him, means we get to save $$…hotel is paid for, taxis are paid for, his food is paid for. It’s perfect. He works and I get to sit in the sun, and then we get to have dinner together. Not bad,eh?
It’s truly perfect. Not to mention, we extended it over the weekend so we both got to sit in the sun together.
It’s good for me to have R and R, and it’s certainly good for him to have R and R.
So off we went.
Wednesday- Day One: We land, drive to the Sheraton VistanaVillage Resort and when we check in we are handed a list of activities and there is a BEER TASTING. Guess who went?. After the fabulous tasting of 5 beers paired with 5 courses, I joined hubby at the trade show for another cocktail party and then off to Oceanaire for a great fish meal.
Thursday- Day Two: Cloudy. Perfect opportunity to shop. Did I say shop? Seriously I’m not a huge shopper. I just need Target. Needless to say, I was a happy camper and spent hours there. I also went to Whole Foods (coz I’m a foodie, remember). Naturally bought some beers to bring home.
For the who are curious: Rogue Ale with CHIPOTLE.
Friday – Day Three: Sunny. This means that I sat at the pool from 9 to 6. No joke. But I was so so responsible and put on sunscreen every hour.
Saturday – Day Four: Even Sunnier: This means that I sat at the pool from 9 to 6. No joke….oops am I repeating myself. Well its true. Final Dinner: We ate a restaurant called the Ravenous Pig. I found it on www.chowhound.com (on the Florida board). Perfect…ok…Fantastic!!
Sunday – Day 5: 8:00 a.m. flight. UGH..wake up call at 5:30. However I was sitting in business class on the return ride home. Lovely service, wide seats, great breakfast…not complaining. Thanks Air Canada for a great experience. (please note, I think I have sat in First Class, twice in my life).
We were back in Toronto by 11:00 a.m. Just in time to buy groceries, make lunch, do homework, go to the gym, spend a few minutes with kids, arrange playdates etc. Vacation was officially over.
One more thing: The Sheraton had the BEST BEST BEST steam room I have ever been to. So steamy that you couldn’t see the door. So steamy that I was addicted and went three times a day.
Sorry..had to share that with you!!
