Five years ago, while on vacation at a time share in Calabogie, Ontario, I started to chat with two women.
We all had small kids, we were all on vacation and we were all on the beach tyring to watch the kids!!
Naturally we started to ask questions: “how old are your kids” “where are you from” etc.
Funny enough…all three of us were from Toronto.
We then bumped into each other at the indoor pool, on the docks, at the playground and of course by the end of the vacation we were all exchanging email addresses etc.
Seeing as I’m so organized (cough cough), I called them to ask if they would be interested in going to a Winterlicious Dinner. Everyone was keen.
We hadn’t seen each other since the vacation, so we had plenty to talk about and the evening was fantastic. Great food and great company.
Then six months later, it was Summerlicious. Seeing as I’m so organized (cough cough), I emailed to ask them if they would be interested to go to a Summerlicious Dinner. Again, everyone was keen.
FAST FORWARD FIVE YEARS….we still meet every ‘licious event (one in the winter, one in the summer). We select restaurants that we normally could not afford to go to…and poof we have a girls nite out.
What’s great about these evenings, is the fact that it’s just remained the three of us. No husbands, no kids, no other friends. There is always SO much to talk about and time zips by.
Does anyone else have this type of friendship?
I truly feel lucky to have found my time-share friends.
p.s on a side note, I loved Calabogie and have never managed to get another time share exchange there. Boo hoo.
