About a year ago, I was introduced to a website that I commonly refer to as “food porn”. My friend warned me that I might get addicted and guess what? he was right. I love this website. The photos are beautiful, the recipes are outstanding and the photos are beautiful (oops, I said that already).
Every day they load hundreds of new photos and every day I am inspired to create new recipes. But the reality of the situation is …who has time!!!
I often wonder, are these people professional cooks? Are they semi-professionals? Are they hobby-ists? I even wonder how many of them are artists and not cooks?
When I stumble upon a photo that I want to try, I click on the photo and poof, I get the recipe! How simple is that.
I barely use a cookbook these days. Too expensive and too time consuming. Do you know what I mean?
As for the photo that I have inserted: It’s not from the website BUT one day if I get (notice the word ‘if”) brave, I might submit it. You might be scratching your head asking yourself “what did I make”?
So here is the answer: Mashed Purple Potatoes with Lavender and Lime.
If you want the recipe, just ask and I would be happy to share it with you.
Oh yeah, the name of the website is www.tastespotting.com.
Happy Cooking!!

I’d forgotten how much I love that site! Dangerous browsing through that with the holidays coming up… too many delicious ideas. I’ve never been disciplined enough to take the camera into the kitchen and record the outcome though… so many pics on that site look pro-quality!

I always wondered if the pictured food tastes anywhere near the artistic presentation – either by photo or on the plate…
