The title of this blog is “Sleep, Sanity and Skinny Jeans” and it was originally a reference to all the things I have lost in my motherhood journey. I have slowly been regaining the first two, in little baby steps, but had not yet made the plunge into the final realm of Skinny Jeans. I have been working out HARD for a year and trying to eat relatively healthily, but like every woman out there, I still harbour some insecurities about my body. But while I was out Christmas shopping last week, I saw a pair of skinny jeans and said, “What the heck, let’s try them on!” and then I bought them.
(This is my mirror on a good day. Same goes for my bedroom. We are a classy people.)
They have taken some getting used to, since they really accentuate my pear-shaped frame. But I am rocking them, loving the change and working the booty I have toiled so hard to lift from the miry depths of post-partum despair.
Here’s to lycra, positive self-image, and buying presents for yourself instead of other people while you’re out doing your holiday shopping!

I always end up dragging home tons of goodies for me as I shop, so I hardly buy myself any official gifties because of it – good for you! Hell, you need something to make all that Christmas shopping more fun.

Good for you, girl – and they look beautiful! Pshaw about your “pear shape” because you are lovely, inside and out. I’m so happy you love them so much! YAY!! xox
