This Year’s Ross Petty Panto Is Their Most Fun Yet

Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas in Toronto without a Ross Petty Panto.

You get the idea. Ross Petty is back for another holiday season—and with it comes all the hit songs, high energy dance numbers, innuendo-laden laughs and (most importantly) audience participation that we know and love it for.

Plus, for the first time in 22 years, the Ross Petty gang are putting on a family musical that’s actually about Christmas. A Christmas Carol: The Family Musical with a Scrooge Loose! will have mom, dad, granny and the kids lolling in the aisles—while Charles Dickens rolls in his grave . . .

Everyone’s favourite holiday grinch, Ebeneezer Scrooge, is trading bah humbug for business ventures with his grand plans to own the holiday season. Cratchit, Marley and the Ghosts of Plumbum (yes, you read that right) team up with Jack the Rapper, a girlband, a boyband, and a bunch of ghostdusters on Christmas Eve, in 1850s London (that’s the one in Ontario, not England…) to teach Scrooge the real meaning of Christmas.

Dan Chameroy makes his return as the inimitable Plumbum, and last year’s Sleeping Beauty, AJ Bridel, takes to the stage as Jane, Scrooge’s executive assistant. Meanwhile, Eddie Glen is back for his 15th Ross Petty production to play Bob Cratchit and Cyrus Lane will be starring as baddie, Scrooge.

This is a show worth booing.
