Remember that commercial with the two adorable grandmas? They were so cute. I’ll never forget their conversation…
“So….”
“How do you like your coffee?”
“Crisp.”
“You like your coffee crisp?”
“I like my Coffee Crisp!”
“Oh, I’m suppose to laugh now. You don’t know from jokes. You never did.”
“Well, excuse me for living.”
“Ah, face it dear, you’re no Jane Rivers.”
“Well, that’s your opinion.”
“So…”
It’s hard to believe that the chocolate bar is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year! The light coffee chocolate wafer bar has remained a favourite amongst Canadians for this many years? Wait, how can that be? And did you even know the bar is Canadian?????
Here are some fun facts…
- In 1939, the original coffee-flavoured chocolate bar was introduced as COFFEE CRISP.
- The first Limited Edition flavour, COFFEE CRISP Triple Chocolate, was launched in 1991. Subsequently specialty flavours like Orange and Raspberry were introduced for a limited time. Throughout the years, other limited editions included French Vanilla, Mocha and Cafe Caramel.
- 2003, Nestle introduced the “Peanut Free Promise” on treat-size COFFEE CRISP bars ensuring to the public that these bars were produced in a peanut-free facility.
- In 2009, COFFEE CRISP comes out with a crispier wafer and is made with all natural flavours. The “Our best goes in before our checkmark goes on” ad campaign is launched and wrappers include a checkmark signifying this commitment.
On this 75th anniversary year, COFFEE CRISP has released a very special limited edition LATTE bar to celebrate this milestone …I absolutely inhaled enjoyed mine with my afternoon skinny, extra shot, extra caramel – caramel macchiato. Yes, I’m THAT kind of coffee drinker. The baristas love me.
In addition to the big celebration, COFFEE CRISP is inviting Canadians to create their own memorable experiences in this country with the Uniquely Canadian Moments Contest. There are three “Canadian Experiences” available to be won. Visit www.coffeecrisp.ca for more details!
So, how do you like your COFFEE?
