If I could order it with room service.

I dream of living in a plush hotel suite when I grow up — I just need to figure out how to become rich enough to live that dream!

When we book our trips, we do just as much research on hotels as we do the destination — after all, it’s all part of the travel experience, right? From the moment I step into any hotel I can usually tell what I’m about to encounter just by the scent of the lobby. Fresh flowers? Subtle notes of jasmine? Or signature scents created just for that location? It sets the tone…as do the welcoming staff from the moment you step out of your vehicle. There’s nothing better than a warm smile when you’ve just arrive from a long trip on a plane or in the car.

When travelling, the one thing that everyone wants is definitely a clean hotel room and with us, it doesn’t matter if it’s a historical hotel or a modern boutique hotel but a clean and comfortable bed is a MUST! One that you want to dive into and just stay in for hours. You know what I mean? A bed with a fluffy white duvet, plush pillows and crisp linens. One you don’t want to leave…and maybe, just maybe by coincidence forget to set the alarm clock for the next morning’s meetings….or maybe just steal a few extra minutes before dinner time.

This is the feeling that washed over me at the recent Urbanmoms Retreat up to Blue Mountain Resort (Collingwood, Ontario) where our group stayed at the beautiful Westin Trillium House. I know I’m not the only one who got all wide-eyed at the sight of this hotels luxurious beds.  There were a few notions of wanting to get back into our rooms to catch afternoon naps in between meetings and activities (I’ll tell you more about what I did in a future post). A good night’s sleep (or afternoon) is important for any traveller – business or pleasure.

The Westin Heavenly Bed is famous worldwide. Travellers rave about it!  You could totally order the entire bed, complete with the heavenly pillows and fluffy duvet online at Westin Hotels at Home . I’ve just noticed they’ve started a summer sale. Hmmm…..I’m seriously considering splurging on parts of it for various gifts like hubby’s birthday, Christmas, and um…Happy Birthday to me? 

Now, if  I can only order room service at home.
