You Need This Eyeliner.

February 3, 2011 by Metalia

I love eyeliner. I wouldn’t say I use a heavy hand — at all — but I would say that I primarily apply it while half-awake, around 6 AM. So, it’s not flawlessly applied, is what I’m saying.

I recently found the suuuuuper skinny Tarte’s emphasEYES ($18) eyeliner, which has definitely made things easier. It comes in five colors, is self sharpening, and  is free of mineral oils, paraben, and other icky stuff.

This makes a perfect thin line, and glides on like a dream. It creates an incredibly natural, yet long-lasting look, and even better, it’s formulated so as not to irritate the inner rims of eyes. It makes your eyes pop, but without creating the dreaded “I’m an extra in a Whitesnake video” effect.

I think so, Alice! It’s pretty easy to work with, and delivers a thin, smooth line.

Eyeliner always slipps off and looks like I’ve been crying. How does this do with the smudge test?

    Sara,
Pink eye and general eye gunk phase was terrible in our house during first pre-school years. My friend recommended Similsan eye drops (I find them at our shoppers drug mart, it has a giant pink eye on the box) and I have found it really helped me avoid catching pink eye from the kids. I use it at the first sign of redness or green goo. It saved me going on eye antibiotics several times.
    Hope it helps,
    Idas

love eyeliner and am presently using a nice one by Quo but wonder if this is thinner?
Sara- make sure pink eye is COMPLETELY gone before using new stuff- it will contaminate and you will have pink eye for a year like I feel I may have!

I’m new to eyeliner this month – no really, I know, I’m just a no-makeup girl, but I’m trying to branch out – would you give this to a beginner with an unsure hand?

    Wait… you don’t like that Whitesnake-look? *snickers*
I’ve been using MAC pencils for years – how would you say they differ?

is this a drugstore thing or a department store? I’m throwing out my makeup bag…think I have my kids pink eye….and am buying new this weekend! Since I only wear eyeliner and mascara…I’d be all over this if I can find it!
