In the immortal words of Homer Simpson and my husband:
“You don’t win friends with salad!”
That is unless you’re some psychotic workout, running junkie like myself who is constantly being pulled towards McDonald’s Happy Meals. Happy Meals dazzle the children with cool toys and dazzle a mom with only a half-hour to feed the kids before full meltdown occurs and they go completely ballistic!
When I saw the new salads, I was actually so excited, it felt like the time I got floor seats to see Depeche Mode at Expo ’86. Yeah, I’m dating myself but I got to see Dave Gahan before he MELTED from his addictions. I felt like that teeny bop, squealing with delight at the New Kids on the Block, or nowadays is it the Jonas brothers?
I have tried the Thai, Mediterranean, and the Caesar, and I love them all with the grilled chicken on top. Yummy salads, and well worth the $7.00. I find that I don’t even need to use all of the dressing as the chicken is spiced for the Thai salad, the Mediterranean is stuffed with great veggies, and the Caesar has huge chunks of grated fresh parmesan and bacon. LOVE IT!
The only thing I don’t like is that only the Garden and Caesar salad can be ordered as sides. Sometimes I feel like a side of Mediterranean or Thai salad with my Angus burger. One time I had to order two salads because one was just not enough for my salad to be an entree, sometimes I need MORE salad! Why are there not larger sizes?
C’mon people, McDonald’s listens to the people and will do everything in its power to supply us with what we want. McDonald’s got salads because they knew you wanted them. The only thing is you have to speak up! Am I the only one who wants a bigger salad for their entrée? Am I the only one who wants the Thai and Mediterranean as a choice of side salad as well as the others?
If I am the only one, I guess I’ll be quiet then, but am I?

Hi Meg! Yes, yes, it is true, I do need to get out MORE! Hopefully my husband is reading this, hint hint hubby. Hahaha!
Thank you for agreeing with me, I need more out-spoken salad people to sway McDonalds to a variety of sides.
Come on salad folk, where are you!
Meg says
McDonald’s salads made you that excited? Wow. You need to get out more 😉
I have tried a few of the salads and thought they were OK but I totally agree about the side salad thing. I would love to have a burger with a salad instead of fries. Great idea!
