…nearly nude in Vanity Fair.
Miley issued a statement because apparently many many of her fans are outraged by the 15-year-old’s choice to pose almost naked.
She said, “I took part in a photo
shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the
photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed. I never
intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I
care so deeply about.”
Miley also took this as an opportunity to discuss the recent internet photos that have been buzzing all over this past week.
"The pictures of me on the Internet were silly, inappropriate shots. I
appreciate all the support of my fans, and hope they understand that
along the way I am going to make mistakes and I am not perfect. I never
intended for any of this to happen and I am truly sorry if I have
disappointed anyone."
"Most of all," she says, "I have let myself down. I will
learn from my mistakes and trust my support team. My family and my
faith will guide me through my life’s journey."
what do you think? not so bad or totally skanky?

i have taken a better look at this and am appalled that her parents would let a photographer pose her to look like that…but i still wouldn’t blasme her shes a child i have a teenage daughter the same age and would never let someone pose her to look like that and snap pics of her….

I’ve heard that this isn’t the worst shot. Aparently there is a pic of Miley on her father’s lap in a very ‘boyfriend/girlfriend’ pose. Gag.
can you find that one for us Ali?
Anna says
Ugh – I hate this girl and I want her to go away.

if we had a picture like this on our computer at home we’d be busted for child porn. she’s a child. does one of her fans (a 7-12 year old girl) have this poster in her room? or maybe it’s for her dad? no wonder our girls today are warped.

nice shot, but not the right one to take of a 15 year old. it can’t be a surprise that the shots turned out that way – I’m certain that someone from her group/staff/family had to approve the photos. so, seems awfully likely that the “is this too sexy for a 15 year-old” discussion had to take place before the magazine was published. so even is she was wowed by working with Annie Lebowitz (and I would be too), I would bet that someone else gave the final proofs the go-ahead.
Don’t you think?
Holly says
she’s a teenager yes, but she is a role model (whether she wants to be or not) to many MANY young girls. I am still shocked at how she performed on Idol Gives Back. Sure, I listed to Madonna when I was young and maybe it isn’t any different, but I wasn’t 8 and I know a lot of 8 year olds listen to Miley. Listening is fine, but seeing some of the things she does just doesn’t sit well with me…. hope she keeps to her word. It’s just too bad that becoming an artist via singing or acting ends up getting so warped along the way.

Who would think: 15-year-old… let’s do a naked shot? That’s not artistic. Shame on the photographer. Shame on her parents. As for Miley? She’s only 15 – I have a hard time calling her a skank.
Maryann says
I think the makeup could be done better, but it is obviosuly an official photo shoot, and it is ALSO something that the magazine couldn’t have done without her parents’ permission… so I have to say that it doesn’t really reach artistic but… not skanky.
LAVENDULA says
you can’t even see anything.whats the big deal? shes a teenage girl for heavens sake.she is still an outstanding role model and i believe her statements about what she says happened.
Jen says
Oh no. Not Miley too! I was really hoping we would have one young celeb who didn’t get naked. She is 15. I hope that her statements are actually true. You just never know.
