words for wednesday, yes I know it’s friday- Say Anything

December 16, 2011 by Nancy

There are so many scenes from this movie (which is defintely in my top 10 all time favourite movies) that I love and can quote cold but this is one of my favourites. Lloyd Dobler (played by my long time boyfriend/ soulmate John Cusack) is at dinner for the first time with his girlfriend and her dad. His girl is brilliant, with a promising future, an only child of a single dad and Lloyd is forced like all young boyfriends to explain himself – his intentions, his future, everything. The tension is rich.
Okay if you don’t love John Cusack and his character yet – you need to look at one more trailer- please note the end when he wants to show her how he is crazy about her and brings the “boombox” to her window late at night. LOVE this.

Love that movie! I am also a sucker for Crossing Delancy, You’ve got mail (even though I hate the ending and think she’s nuts for liking him after realising that it was him that ditched her at the coffee shop), Love Acutally (best Christmas movie ever!), and Ferris Beuller’s day off.

That song…that movie…that man (not guy). I love it all. Thanks for a starting off my Friday on a high note, Nancy!
