We are just over 1/3 of the way through my husband’s South American business trip. (One week down, two more to go.) I’ll admit it, I didn’t think it would be too hard with him gone. He often works long hours on the orchard and I am used to toting around all three kids on my own. But it has been really, really, REALLY tough not having him here.
The day after he left we got hit with head lice (so gross and SO time-consuming and overwhelming to deal with), and now Karenna has a bad cold and high fever, along with the girls having generally grumpy attitudes, night terrors and wakings, and their lack of respect for me as I try to keep this house from falling apart.
To say the very least, we miss you, Steve!

Oh you are being tested Amanda! Yikes. I bet you are handling it beautifully.

he had better have no objections to your long weekend away. what long weekend, you say? i don’t know but i’d say it’s the one you’re planning right now…without him or anyone under 4 feet tall!! hugs to you…
Jen says
Oh Amanda! I can tell how tough it has been just by the solemn tone of this post. None of your usual fun and snarky self. I hope the fever breaks and you have a great 2 out of 3 with the girls.
Oh, and once everyone has recovered, get a babysitter and take a break!
Julie says
We only have ONE child and no one has head lice… and I go nearly insane if Lowell is gone for AN EVENING, so I can only IMAGINE how much you must be missing Steve. *HUGS* 🙂
