We’re halfway through this season of Battle of the Blades! I went to the premiere a few weeks ago…and now that we’re getting to the nitty gritty…I’m fully IN.
I’ll tell you – I remain amazed and I think it’s awesome how into this kids are! Are your kids watching?? I was sandwiched between three 9 year-old boys; a little girl next to me and a couple of kids in front of me with a massive sign. They were screaming, yelling and frantically trying to get on television. (oh…and they kept wondering why I was on my Blackberry the whole time! Twitter kids..Twitter!).
I was super impressed with how improved all the skaters were as well. The video montages this week showed how beat up everyone was getting and how physically demanding figure skating is. All the pairs did online montages in rememberance of Jamie Hubley, an Ottawa teen who committed suicide after being relentlessly bullied at school. Battle of the Blades really is shining a light on so many amazing charities and causes across our country.
Unfortunately this week – my favourite pair was eliminated! Anabelle Langlois and Brad May were skating for Autism Speaks. They did an incredible job and I thought (yes, yes I’m biased) that they were superior to many pairs last night. (Also CBC…get the voting fixed…come on – app down, different rules etc). Regardless – Brad and Anabelle shone a light on autism. They are incredible ambassadors and worked their asses off to try and win the big prize for Autism Speaks.
Brad and Anabelle. Thank you 100 times over for sacrificing your time; your outstanding effort and for choosing Autism Speaks as the charity of your choice!
**Check back here next Monday for full details of how YOU can WIN a family pack of four tickets to the performance finale of Battle of the Blades on November 13th. It’s a blast!!!**
