come on in. pull up a seat. grab a latte. a starbucks, non-fat, one-splenda latte, preferably. join me as i try to stay cool and keep my cool in this busy world of kids, work, family and friends.
this is the story of my life.
it’s funny. it’s witty. it’s hip. it’s embarrassing. it’s heartfelt. it’s honest. but most of all… it’s fabulous.
and these are the usual suspects:
me. former stay-at-home mom turned editor at children’s book publisher (y’all know which one…the one with the famous book club…cue the collective "ah"). likes: reality tv. cookies. baby gear. lululemon pants. spicy veggie sushi. diet pepsi. black turtlenecks. sarcasm. dislikes: mornings. carpool. putting away dry dishes and folded laundry. the zoo. aspires to be: fabulous. can be heard saying, "are you kidding me?" and "no, ma’am"
The husband. likes: bbq’ing, food tv, xbox, south park. dislikes: people who are late. television. my music. shopping. aspires to be: head chef at a restaurant. can be heard saying, "glove save, Potvin."
The girl. Emily. 5 1/2 in actual age. 15 1/2 in spirit. likes: anything princess. beading. jewelry. dancing in front of the mirror. whining. Lindsay Lohan. dislikes: bedtime. her brother (when anyone’s looking). yogurt. aspires to be: a rockstar. can be heard saying, "you guys are intentionally ruining my life" and "can i have a treat?"
The boy. Joshua. almost 4. olfactory man. likes: superheroes. boxer briefs. dessert. puzzles. dislikes: Emily’s shows. most smells. dogs. aspires to be: power ranger. preferably red. also, wants to be Will Stronghold. can be heard saying, "see you later, fweeks" and "mommy, you’re da best!"
The baby. Isabella. just turned 1. adorable little buddha baby. likes: food (all sorts). shoes. napping. bears. dislikes: walking on her own. having her diaper changed. aspires to be: big enough to fight back. can be heard saying, "hi, mama!" and "hot dog." we are VERY proud.
