Every Monday morning, Cuyler’s class has a “Monday Mingle” at which they share something about their weekend with the class.
I asked Cuyler at dinner tonight what he was going to share. He replied “I went on the snowmobile by myself in the woods.”
Yep. He sure did. He hopped on and made his way around the backyard track and got stuck in a snowbank/bush. He was pulled out and we got him back on the track. He went around a a second time then managed to escape the backyard and took off on the track through the woods.
I was chasing him, calling his name. Twice he looked over his shoulder at me. And kept going. Luckily the men saw it and Sean and his buddy hopped on the full size snowmobile and went in for him.
He was fine. Laughing and thinking he was pretty ingenius to escape the backyard track for more adventure than it offered. We got him back on the smaller track. And…then he did it again.
He’s much more confident on it this year than he was last year.
This was last year – Cuyler’s first time EVER on a snowmobile. Poor Sean.
This was our second Winterfest. The snow was about 3 feet deeper this year than last. So it was extra wintery!

fire pit and tossing snowballs at each other the entire time. The kids made snowmen, snow angels and got stuck in the 2 foot deep snow with each step they took.
The weather was perfect. The company was superb and Cam is already talking about next years Winterfest!
Can’t think of a better way to exhaust my kids spend a gorgeous winter afternoon than outside taking advantage of everything the season has to offer.

That’s so great!! And yes – much like the pool during the summers, this kind of snow really wipes them out by the end of the day… which suits me just fine – Miller Time comes sooner that way. YAY!!

SOOOOOOOO Awesome. Family traditions rock!!!! We had an annual “SeaDoo” Weekend at the family cottage that we still talk about. It lasted at LEAST 10 years.
