Weekend Roundup! Charlie vs. Demi! J Love on SVU! Bridesmaids!

The weekend started off with the news that Ashton Kutcher is replacing Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men.  The way I see it, Chuck Lorre is brilliant!  The main rumour was Hugh Grant was going to take it on.  Let’s be serious here Charlie could take Hugh in a fist-to-cuffs.  But hiring Ashton?  Sure Sheen v. Kutcher would be a no-brainer too but Demi Moore?  Hello – did you see GI Jane?  I’m convinced this recasting will just have Charlie fade into the background and plot his comeback.  Personally, I’d like to see a Platoon sequel.  Where is Private Chris Taylor now?  (okay Platoon is on my Top 5 fave movie lists so I’m a bit biased).

Next up – the Jersey Shore cast arrived to shoot their next season in Italy.  I’ll admit it.  I’m jealous.  I spent my twenties with big hair, drinking and hooking up with people for free in Toronto!  They’re living my twenties in Europe AND making more money in a year then I will in my life.  Grrr to that.

Word is out that Jennifer Love Hewitt is being considered for a starring role in Law & Order SVU (or SUV as I always call it).  Wait!  My fingers just stopped typing for five minutes.  Even THEY are in disbelief.  Picture Chris Meloni unleashing one of his stares at J Love…she’d crumple into a pile of dust – come on! 

Let’s end the roundup on a happy note.  Bridesmaids!  Did you see it?  I haven’t yet but my friend did and said ‘it’s crude 13 year old humour for over 30 ladies.’  Love it. (Sidenote she said if you don’t know who Wilson Phillips are, you are too young and should stick to Superbad).

It ended up in a second place at the box office this weekend.  Go chicks!  I’m thinking of saving it for a couple weeks and doing the Bridesmaids/Hangover 2 double feature.  Anyone up for it?
