You may be familiar with the Mole Sisters? Their authors has come out with their exact opposite – the Vole Brothers – for those who need a little mischief in their mini-worlds.

Moles are small. Voles are small. Sisters are siblings. Brothers are siblings. But where the Mole Sisters go on sweet little adventures of exploration in their natural world, the Vole Brothers are something different.
Hungry, they hop out of their hideyhole and nip a piece of pizza from under a cat’s nose, running away with it – only to discover that they are not the only hungry marauders around, as their pizza starts to disappear… They nearly lose a second purloined snack – and their own lives – to that cat, when they are, quite literally, saved by the bell.
These guys are definitely more mischievous than their feminine counterparts, and are also rendered in larger scale, both the book itself and the characters, who consequently come across as less dainty. It’s a fun twist, and a bit more rollicking for kids who like a little dose of danger in their storytime.
I would also point out that there are mere hours left in hour contest with the books’ publisher, OwlKids and with Mastermind Toys – go enter our Hoot if You Love Hallowe’en contest before it closes!
