Jessica Simpson and John Mayer are no longer a couple. Hallelujah! Because…EW?! I’ll let you know the deets when I hear anything. Basically, Jess says she’s feeling "happy" post John. As she told People Magazine in a brief interview at the Cannes Festival, "I

That’s all I know so far about the breakup. But, I DO ALSO KNOW that Jess has gone blond again, and I’m not sure I’m diggin it. Here she is promotn’ her new movie Major Movie Star (which I will NOT be watching EVAH):

I don’t care that she’s flirting with surfer boy Kelly Slater here. I’m stuck on her abs. How does one achieve this bod? Really? Sign me up — because it’s incredible, really. And, IMHO, she looks SO much better as a blond — and, I don’t think I’ve EVER said that about anyone before. GO CAM! Notice how I’m suddenly sort of fannish of her? It’s cuz Josh and I rented The Holiday, and she looks totally gorj in it.

BRITNEY COMEBACK CATASTROPHE AND…QUESTION
You KNEW this was going to happen! At her last House of Blues 14-minute comeback show, Britney got caught in the act of lip-synching. Yeah, the cd skipped while Brit was "singing"…. The audience booed and hawed. She had to turn her back for the SHAME! But, things got fixed, and she kept going, and all was not lost…, and the audience was all cheers. She’s performing in Miami tonight….
Just curious…. When you’re planning a comeback — AFTER having had 2 kids, AFTER a failed marriage, AFTER rehab, AFTER shaving your head before THE WORLD — WHY ON EARTH do you try to comeback as the SAME BRITNEY you were BEFORE all this? I.e., WHY is Britney trying to be the same ole Oops-I-Did-It-Again Britney, the Slave-For-You Britney, etc., etc.? Seriously, it just invites comparisons. And, she cannot POSSIBLY be the same as she was. She can only be worse — a failed copy of what she once was, a has-been, wannabe, try-hard. Not good. Why not come back as a more mature Britney? A Britney who’s made mistakes, who’s hung out with Paris Hilton and SURVIVED relatively unscathed (ahem). I just don’t get it? I just think this is a really bad career move. REALLY BAD. EMBARRASSINGLY BAD. What say you, Gorgeouses?

Oh, what can there possibly be left to say about Britney? You’re right, of course, the “comeback” is terrible. It’s going to be more like when yesterday’s garlic and hot chili dip makes a “comeback”, ya know?

Britney needs to retire. I don’t think anyone is going to take her seriously when she makes this so-called comeback. ITA with you about trying to be how she once was.It’s not going to happen. She’s not going to get the reception that she’s hoping for!
P.S. I commented on the other post about Y&R in you CM blog – Nick!? OMG, he’s so not gone, but even knowing that, I cried like a BABY at the memorial show. So. sad!
Oh, and Cameron? She surfs I think that has a lot to do with your abs your seeing there. She’s so hot! I am so jealous. I won’t deny it. I want her bod something fierce. I can only wish though.

Brit’s hair looks like a barbie under a microscope – with all the plug things. Weird. I guess she regrets shaving it. Personally I would have just let it grow a bit and gone with a shorter look. I totally agree – she should switch it up a bit. I think if she did it the right way she could attract a whole new fan base.
Anyway …
