I have trouble with florals on myself, but I bought this dress on sale from the Gap last year, but during the summer months, it was just way too big for Madame. The shoulder straps are spaced extremely wide… this child’s no linebacker. I was completely thrilled to see that it fits this summer! (The straps are still a bit far apart for my taste, but I can’t be bothered to do any “stitching” because I’m all lazy like that.)
The sandals are the same as I bought for her last year – at some point over the winter, one of my neighbours gave me a pair in the next size up, since her daughter tried to wear them one time, but the thong-thingie drove her nuts… SCORE!!
I wouldn’t send her to school or to camp in a dress like this. And we’re actually not terribly fancy in the way of outings or special events, and there are fewer birthday parties in the summertime… so she’s just wearing it. Whenever. The summer will be over before we know it anyway, and it certainly won’t fit next year, right?
Ava Scarlett wears:
cotton floral sundress – Gap, about $22
floral sandals – Winners, $16

Cute! My 7.5 year old has the same dress, she convinced me to buy her a size 4 on clearance last year. She wears it as a long top over skinny jeans. Clare has more fashion sense in her pinky finger than I have in my whole body!
