In one month my 9 year old boy will be turning 10. Something has happened to him and I am both amused and dismayed.
Since he could walk he hated wearing jeans. It didn’t matter how much I pleaded he refused to wear them and pretty well lived in track pants and tee-shirts. So be it, finally I decided it wasn’t worth it he could wear what he most comfortable in. But the other day it was as though an alien had jumped into Sebastian’s body and took over.
I was in the kitchen (cleaning up as usual) when in walks Sebastian wearing a pair of black jeans! He then makes the following comment as he walks by me
“Oh yeah I’m low riding baby…”
WTH? Black jeans, low riding…….. was my little boy suddenly entering the whole “tween thing!” YIKES! I had been through this with Marie, but never with Joshua. I suppose living with aspergers daily put him on a whole different path. This path Sebastian was jumping onto was hilarious. Couldn’t wait to see what other shocking things he was going to do. He didn’t disappoint. Soon enough he was searching through the hall closet for a baseball cap. Marie was by my side and decided to coach him on how to low ride properly and do the walk. I was beside myself! Suddenly Sebastian is walking around low riding, wearing the cap and doing the walk. He turns to me and says:
“I got swagger! I am going to be so cool at school tomorrow!”
Marie gets all serious and whispers “Okay I have to say if he WASN’T my brother he does so have the look and is totally cool, but he IS my brother so I am out of here TTYL!” Ahhh sisterly love……
All I have to say is thanks to the alien who has taken over my son and hello to the Boy Tween years! Looks as though I will be forking out the dough for new jeans that he has requested, this ride should be interesting!
What about you – have you a boy entering or in the tween stage? What am I in for?
Until next time,

Definitely a game worth checking out. Has an extremely large sandbox environment that has attracted QUITE a few people. Simplistic yet rampant.

Julie it is crazy! But at least his low riding – isn’t really low riding – he just has them on his hips lol however this morning he had on sweats again so I thought it was over until he asked me if I could buy him some skinny jeans! ugh!
