Do you remember when you first started travelling with an infant? Will has been ported around a ton since he was a baby – nature of the single mother. I use to bring him to my sisters for an overnight with the following:
a. diapers – probably 10
b. wipers
c. 4 sleepers
d. 4 outfits
e. pack and play
f. portable high chair
g. 2 blankies
h. medicine
i. thermometer
j. picture of me (come on….I’m kidding)
Last night I left a bag at the daycare centre for my sister to take home along with Will. It had a sleeper, a blankie, an outfit for school the next day and a blankie.
So newish moms – you know when all those really well intentioned, yet highly annoying, other mothers keep telling you how much easier it gets?? I’m here to tell you that on SOME fronts – they’re actually right.
**oh and the other beauty of the toddler sleepover, they can call you and say goodnight.**

you’re so right! it’s a now a pleasure to go out with my 8 yr old and 6 yr old; my 3 yr old however, is still very challenging…i’m almost there!

yes yes and another resounding YES!
Coming from someone who was up to her eyeballs in fulltime diapers for 8 years – it gets so easy.
I don’t worry if we have a spare paci, diapers, drinks, spare clothes.
We basically can get up and go now.
My gigantic purse/diaper bag is significantly smaller now and carries my wallet, keys lipgloss and cell phone and some portable wipes for sticky fingers and faces.
Sleepovers are a breeze and are often spur of the moment. Eva has spare jammies at each grandparents house and that’s about all she needs.
Thanks for the reminder of how far we’ve come!!

I love that I hardly ever even carry a sippy-sup around with me anymore… magic!!

I’ve been having nightmares of packing for three kids for 2 months!! Last time we went we packed diapers/wipes and paid $150 for the extra weight of my luggage. This time I am travelling with enough diapers to get me through the flight and then we will buy everything there INCLUDING toys…I’m going to let each kid bring their favourite smallest toy and that’s it… their bedtime books weigh over ten pounds!! So we may be reading a few new stories there too! We have a washing machine there but seriously my kids can go through three outfits a day no problem!!

the smaller they are, the more crap they need! it’s sooooo true!
