Our trip to Barbados is confirmed. We leave in two weeks for two weeks of fun in the sun with our little Russians. While my friend attends to her business duties I will be lounging managing two toddlers on the beach. We booked a place with a kitchenette, play ground and kiddie pool so that will help with the mayhem adventures of hanging out with the kiddies on my own.
I am on to the packing lists portion of planning and so far have the following on my list.
- swim diapers
- flotation devices… water wings or life jacket?
- diapers
- kiddie utensils
- favourite books
- leash
- stroller
- kiddie SPF
- sun hat
- sunscreen suit
- pail and other sandcastle making supplies
What else should I be putting on my list? Have you ever traveled with a toddler,, or two?
What are your must have’s and waste of packing space?

I would recommend packing a few boxes of the kids favourite cereal or packaged snacks in your luggage. Not sure of the cost of groceries in Jamaica, but the food in the Caribbean can be quite expensive.
I hope that you have a wonderful trip! Bon voyage!!

We travelled to Jamaica when my Missy was almost 2 years old. I took some small colouring books & crayons (got a package of about 6 books in the package at Walmart), our portable DVD player & DVDs (good thing I did, it rained quite a bit while we were there), small toys – think happy meal sized dolls & puppets, & small board books (again – go them in a package of about 12 little books – I think at Costco).
As long as the weather is good, you will probably not need any of these things as you will be able to be outside.
🙂
ENJOY!

I always like to take a little medical care kit. Fun band aids, allergy medication, fever medication and disinfecting wipes. And don’t forget the Advil for you, in the event you have one too many cocktails! 🙂
