If this isn’t the rule in every house, it should be: If dad goes away on a fun holiday and leaves mom and kids behind, there should be gifts on the return. It’s a thank you to mommy for keeping the house in order and a nice token to the kids that daddy was thinking of them while he was away.
Mr. Husband is pretty good at remembering the gift part. But keeping track of what he brought home from year to year seems a bit more difficult, either that or he is doing this on purpose, both are equally troubling.
Mr. Husband and his buddies take an annual ski holiday together and although it may start to seem like it by the number of posts I’ve made on the topic, I am fully supportive of this endeavour. He knows that and is grateful for that and always brings me home a treat.
This was the first year we were together and he went to Whistler with the boys!
This is the year he went to Lake Louise!!
And this is this year’s gift from Alta Utah!!!
You are all smart women, so please don’t ever think the humour I find in my husband’s shopping eccentricities negates how grateful I am that he remembers me when he is away, but …well, I think the pictures speak for themselves – lol!
(PS – these vests have been punctuated by a blue fleece turtleneck from Fernie and an oversized blue sweatshirt from the East coast.)
Men – gotta love them, they try so hard!

Why is Developing a Mosque at Ground Zero actually sanctioned to occur? I have never heard anything so absolutely foolish in all of my life. If this possibly goes to reality, It will likely to be the scariest thing ever. adeline

Did he think the other two vests he bought you were getting ratty?
I have to say, my husband usually buys me exceptionally nie presents, but one year for my birthday, he got it so wrong. An obusform pillow. Can’t sleep on it, can’t even stuff a decorative sham with it!

It’s good to know he’s consistent. To me it’s a sign of reliability…

LOL, the good old vest. Be grateful: my Hubby was in TO for a visit last Easter and while in Kensington Market with his mom (which explains a lot) bought me a very strange woven blanket-thing with a slit cut in it down the centre, right to the very middle. He told me the lady who sold it to him said they were really popular and could be worn as capes, shawls, scarves, skirts…whatever. It is the weirdest thing and to this day I cannot figure out what you’re supposed to do with it.

that’s hilarious.

I must admit I had to show this one to my Mr. Husband – we both got quite a good laugh out of it! Ah well – its the thought that counts..and its certainly good fleece weather!

Wow. I don’t know that it would be humour or gratitude I would be feeling 😉

That’s too funny! You probably gushed over the first one, so he’s thinking he can’t go wrong selecting the same thing again (and again… and again!)
