This annual outdoor art exhibition takes place at Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto and it holds a special place in my heart. Personally, I think it’s one of the best places to check out Canadian artists – and there are hundreds of them in this juried show! Local talents from established artists to emerging ones are all accessible.
The artwork ranges from abstract to fine art, from photography to sculptors to jewellers and pottery. Only original artwork is shown. No reproductions are allowed except for limited edition prints in some cases. Prices are made direct by the artist so no “middle man” is involved. It’s a perfect place to find artwork for your home…or even to just get inspired by all the creativity that thrives in our country.
I’ve purchased original artwork from several contemporary artists at this show over the years – two of which I bought while pregnant with the intention of passing them on to my kids when they become adults and have homes of their own.
The Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition takes place July 6, 7, and 8th.
